Q: We would like to change the color of our home.  Can we change the color with one coat of paint?

A: When changing color a two coat application is suggested.  After
proper preparations is complete, prime bare areas with a tinted prime, then finish with two coats of paint.

Q: Does pre-primed hardboard siding have to be primed after it is installed on the house?

A: It is always a good idea to check the siding manufacturer's recommendations before painting.  In most situations a coat of exterior alkd primer before applying two coats of acrylic latex top coat enhances the paint job.

Q: The paint on my house always tends to bubble or peel behind my shrubs.  How can I stop this?

A: You can take care of this problem by cutting the shrubs back from the house at least 12 inches or as necessary.  by allowing the shrubs against the your house, you're creating an area of moisture causing the paint to bubble or peel.

Q: How do I remove the wall covering if the drywall was not primed before the initial installation?  How do I keep the
drywall facing from coming off?

A: It is next to impossible to prevent the paper facing on the drywall because that's what the wall covering adheres to.  You can reduce damage by not over soaking wallpaper.  After you remove the wall covering, wash any remaining paste from the wall and patch any badly damaged areas.
